Getting started
- What size dogs do you take?
Small dogs, 35 lb and under. Our space and play groups are designed for small dogs, so they can play with friends their own size. Not sure if your dog fits? Call us at 604-544-0106.
- How do I sign up?
Three steps:
- Create a profile in our client portal and upload your dog's vaccination records.
- Email or call us to book the first visit for a free assessment.
- Buy a daycare pack or monthly plan online, then book and manage your days in the portal.
- What is the free assessment?
Every new dog's first visit is a complimentary assessment completed by a trained member of our team. It helps us get to know your dog and make sure daycare is a good fit. Book it by email or phone once your profile and vaccination records are in the portal.
- What vaccinations does my dog need?
Your dog's vaccinations must be up to date, and the records uploaded to their profile before the first visit. We ask for core vaccines (DHLPP), Bordetella and Rabies. If you're unsure about your dog's records, check with your vet and give us a call.
- My dog is nervous around other dogs. Can they come?
Often, yes. The free assessment lets us see how your dog does, and our team will work with you on ways to help them settle in. Plenty of our regulars started out shy.
- Where are you?
We're at #1-825 McBride Blvd, New Westminster, BC V3L 5B5, and welcome dogs from across New Westminster, including Uptown, Sapperton, Queens Park, Glenbrooke, the Brow of the Hill, Downtown and Queensborough.
Daycare
- What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. We're closed on Saturdays, Sundays and some statutory holidays. Late pick-up charges may apply.
- What's the difference between a half day and a full day?
A half day is up to 5 hours. A full day is over 5 hours. Half days start at $28.40 + GST and full days at $39.50 + GST.
- What is the daycare like?
Kennel-free. There's a large common area for running and playing, and a quiet, private space for dogs who need a rest. The whole space is cleaned and sanitized daily with dog-safe cleaning solutions.
- Who looks after the dogs?
Our team of experienced pack leaders, certified in Dog First Aid, supervises the dogs all day. They're people with a real interest in canine behaviour and a great love for dogs.
- Do you do anything special for the dogs?
Yes. Alongside daily play we run enrichment such as sniffing and puzzle games, plus themed days like Pupuccino Day, birthday celebrations and our Howl-O-Ween costume contest. See it all on TikTok and Instagram.
Boarding
- Do you offer boarding?
Yes, kennel-free boarding for dogs who currently attend our daycare, based on staff availability. Rates are $68 + GST a night for 1 to 3 nights, $63 + GST for 4 to 10 nights and $58 + GST for 11 nights or more. More about boarding.
- How do I book boarding?
Call 604-544-0106 or email contact@wagnwoofnewwest.com with your dates. Holidays fill early. Pick-up after 10 am on your pick-up day is $20 + GST.
Services
- Do you offer dental cleaning?
Yes, we offer gentle dental cleaning for dogs. Call or email us to find out how to sign up.
- Do you offer training?
We partner with Happy Campers Dog Training (James and Valerie), who use science-based, positive reinforcement methods and offer everything from puppy and basic manners classes to behavioural consulting. Contact them at 604-700-2325.
Booking & rates
- How much does daycare cost?
Half day $28.40 + GST, full day $39.50 + GST. Packs of 5, 10, 15 or 20 passes save 5% to 20%, and unlimited monthly daycare is $597.79 + GST (30% off). See all prices.
- Do packages expire?
Pass packages expire 180 days after the date of first use. The unlimited monthly plan renews each month, and unused days don't carry over.
- Is there a discount for two dogs?
Yes. Families with two dogs get a discount. Ask a member of our team next time you visit.
- How do I pay?
Buy prepaid packages in our client portal. We also accept cash, debit and major credit cards on site.
